Our last port of call is awaiting.

The Amalfi Coast
We have arrived on our beautiful cruise ship Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas in the Italian port of Naples. There is our private van and driver to take us along the Amalfi Coast. We are very excited to see what he has planned for us. This is a very narrow winding road with the cliffs on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other and we are thankful for an experienced driver to manuever these roads.
The scenery is specatcular. Many small towns hugging the sides of the

hillswith their vineyards terraced along the slopes. Also hugging the hills are beautiful hotels and swimming pools. Not much in the way of sandy beaches, but for a peaceful stay, this is the best.
We pass Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii as we begin our journey. The Mountain is green and lush and seems so harmless as it stands above

the landscape. Hard to imagine the terror that came out of her.
A shopping stop is always important and this one is very unique – a Cameo Factory. A lot of oohs and aahs trying to decide exactly which

one we want.
Along the Bay of Naples we come to Sorrento. From high above the Sea we see cruise ships of all sizes moored in the bay. It is so lovely.
Stopping in Positano for a bit of shopping. However, the prices are staggering. Lovely little shops with great clothes, but our guide tells us Ravello is much more reasonably priced.

Lunch time and our driver takes us up up a hill and parks along the side. We begin a short climb and up some steps into a charming little cafe overlooking the Sea and the terraced hills. What a
wonderful stop.
We learn a lot about the lemons that are a great crop here and about the chestnut fesitval. All along the road are chestnut trees. We also hear about the terraced vineyards and how they are maintained.
What a wonderful day with great friends. More memories for our memory books.
